Irony & Ambiguity

At first I thought irony meant that what were the situations in the store and why did it happen, but I learned I was wrong because irony really means the difference between what the readers expect or what seems suitable and the reality of what happens. There are also three different kinds of irony which are verbal irony, situational irony, and dramatic irony.

I also learned what ambiguity is because I use to think it meant a fat guy eating a hamburger but I found out I was wrong because ambiguity means a part of a text with meaningful meaning in which something can be interpreted in a number of different ways.

On my pretest of ambiguity and irony I was way below grade. On my posttest I hope I get a c or higher grade level.

At first I thought theme was the point of what the main character is getting to but, know I know I was wrong because I theme actually means a control idea or insight about life and human nature that give a story meaning. The five major genres that are helpful to find in the theme are poetry, fiction, non-fiction, drama, and myth. Since I know and understand theme, I can now know the theme in my favorite movie which is Halloween the theme of this movie is that Michael was a killer because when he was a 6 year old boy he stabbed his sister in till she died.
On my pretest for the theme meaning I was graded below level because I did not know what it meant. I hope I will get graded a c or higher because I need to pass the class

Second Quarter Goals

This quarter, I will finish Ms. Priesters class with a C or higher. I will have that at the end because I will study hard for the next semester do my entire test with out guessing. Another thing I will do in Ms. Priesters class will try not to get to an argument with a student in her class so I wont get kicked out and miss out in the notes.

This quarter I will stay in task all the rest of the school year and not get into peer negativity. I will stay on task by not being rude to anybody so they won’t be rude to me. Also I will do all my work so I can get distracted from all the negativity.

This quarter I will keep all of my grades higher than a c in all of my classes so I won’t fell in none of my classes. I will do this by staying in task and not getting kicked out on none of my classes.
